New me

Love between two people, if true, makes them one. And then the overused expression "दो जिस्म एक जान " (Two hearts and one soul) actual doesn't seem so banal. Writers and poets from times innumerable have spoken of this love. Let me be one among the many to say it again. But be known this was actually written for my love "Bhagi" on her 27th birthday on 17th Nov 2010. 

I looked for a while at the new me.
The face was happy and tan,
the smile so mellow and free.
Resemblance a few of know lines ran,
across the face for the world to see.
I know of this face that the mirror showed me.
Only now I wonder when did I become thee.
